About
The Teacher Behind the LessonsThree decades in English classrooms — and the craft to prove it.
James Mulhern, a retired professor of English, spent three decades in English classrooms — as a high school department chair of English and Social Studies, then as a College Board AP English consultant and AP trainer for the National Math and Science Initiative. An Oxford writing fellow and the founder of Silver Current Press and the 2601 Literary Salon, James builds the lessons he wishes had been on his own desk when he started teaching: rigorous, classroom-tested, deeply rooted in the craft of literature.
Every resource on this site comes from a real teacher who has taught the lesson, refined it, and watched it work with real students. No fluff. No filler. Just the literature lessons your students will remember.
